Meet Dr. Afshar – Coronado Smiles Dental

A native San Diegan, Dr. Afshar and her family have resided in Coronado since 2005. She attended Patrick Henry High and San Diego State, where she received her Bachelors in Biology, before attending the Prestigious, University of the Pacific School of dentistry.  Practicing since 2000, she is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Society, the San Diego County Dental Society, and San Diego Association of Women Dentists.

Through her years of training and experience, Dr. Afshar has developed a theory of Comprehensive Dental Care. It begins with developing ideal oral health for the teeth and supporting tissues, as well as excellence in appearance and function. She Provides quality care with no mercury, BPA-free fillings & sealants, and customizes her patients’ care by evaluating their absolute needs for x-ray and Fluoride.

As an avid scholar strongly committed to enhancing her knowledge of the best dental techniques and technology available, Dr. Afshar stays ahead of the curve with year-round participation in continuing education.

In her spare time, she participates in her daughter’s activities, loves to cook international cuisine,  Snow skiing, Jet skiing and going on long walks.

Katherine

Kathrine has been an RDA for 7 years and has been working with Dr. Afshar for the last 6 years. She is a talented member of our team. On her off time, she likes to cook, dance and help her young daughter with her school activities.

Erika

Our Patient Care Coordinator has been in the field of dentistry for 13 years. She will help you with scheduling your dental needs and answer insurance questions. During her off time, Erika likes to bake with her son and enjoys biking and picnicking with her husband.

Lauren

Lauren is our dental assistant and the humor in our office. A military wife and native of Coronado, Lauren has a special way of making everyone feel relaxed and laughing!During her time off she enjoys doing crafts and spending time with her dogs.
